CROWN PRINCE OF RUMANIA

RECONCILIATION WITH QUEEN MARIE (Rec. October 13, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, October 12. There was an affecting public reconciliation of the Crown Prince Carol and Queen Marie of Rumania. The Queen, surrounded by her suite, was leaving the Saint Lazare station for America when a fair-haired young man pushed through the crowd, seized the Queen's hand, and kissed it passionately. The Queen was startled, and then recognised her son. After a moment’s hesitation she took him in her arms, and embraced him fervently, and wept. The people on the platform discreetly withdrew, allowing the reconciliation to be complete. Though earlier it was reported that the Queen had forbidden Carol to visit, tier, she looked very happy when she left to join the Leviathan. . It is understood the reconciliation does not at present affect Carol’s renunciation of his succession to the throne.
