M hen the Dai?v Board undertook to allocate the outputs of dairy companies to the merchants it made an allocatwm to George Bowles. Nicholls and Go. considerably greater than the average handled bv them for the three years taken as a basis of allocation. The board, however, allocated complete cutputs. instead of a small proportion of a number of outputs as previouHy handled by this firm. This was. of course, to recluce the amount of work end expense entailed. The advantage and goodwill referred to by Mr. Cameron, as related tn the ouantity handled by George Bowles, Nicholls and Go., is still retained for the industry. The only difference is that the whole industry benefits, and not onlv the favoured few, as the results of sales are pooled according to grade.-I am, etc., t c br ash Secretary. Dairy Board.
