In the “News of the World” £lOOO professional golf tournament, now in progress on the Mid-Surrey course, a sensation was created by H Gaudin defeating Abe Mitchell and E. P. Whitcombe. Douglas, the New Zealand ex-champion, who is now a professional connected with the Robin Hood Club, Nottingham, beat Sid. Ball, 4 up and 2to play. Most of the prominent proiessionals aie participating.
