SIR VALENTINE CHIROL’S PROTEST (Rec. July 13, 10.35 p.m.) London, July 13. Sir Valentine Chirol has resigned the chairmanship of the Chelsea branch of the League of Nations Union as a protest against the Bernstorff incident at Aberystwyth, Wales. He maintains that it is little short of ar. outrage against international decency for Count Bernstorff to be the selected exponent of the League’s principles, as lie is associated in English-speaking minds with the sinking of the Lusitania and all the plots and deeds of violence. —Svdnev "Sun” Cab'.s.
