DAMAGE TO WAINUI-0-MATA' '■/ It was stated by! the , Hutt/: county engineer (Mr. A. D. Banhau), at last night’s meeting of the . Hutt County Council that the Wellington' City Coun-' cil are opening up the road at every joint of the water-main on, the Wainui-o-mata Road, tightening the joints up, covering the hole made in the road, nnd then testing the main. If the joint leaked the road was torn up again. As a result' of this the Waintli-o-mata Road was; said to be getting in a deplorable, condition.. On. the motion of Councillor D. R. Hoggard, the council decided to write the Wellington City Council, asking them to make good all damage done to the road as the result of their digging holes in it to get at the water-mains.
