CHEQUE FOR £l2O FORGED. Bv TGI EGIIAPH- I'hESO A-SSOCIAT’nN Auckland, May 31. A young ledger-keeper recently employed by the Bank of New Zealand at Papakura, and arrested at Sydney, was charged with forging a cheque'for £l2O and drawing that sum from a depositor's account. Accused pleaded guilty. Ho said he was a single man, receiving a salary of £l7O per annum. He was in ill-health and wanted a drier climate, and cashed the cheque, as he had no other means. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The Justices of the Peace agreed to the suppression of his name.
