THE 24-INCH WATER MAIN
BURST DUE TO OLD FRACTURE The bursting of the old 24-inch water main on the Hutt road on Wednesday night was found to be due to an old fracture in the centre of one of the pipes, where it was found to be resting centrallv on a sharp point of solid rock. The whole of the pipe was removed, and a new length inserted. Commendably good work was done ,by the waterworks staff in effecting repairs.
