MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSOCIATION Palmerston North, April 10. For some time past dissatisfaction has been felt by some at the manner in which the Manawatu and 1\ est Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association is being conducted. This was openly aired of late at a meeting of the committee, and different opinions were expressed regarding tho alleged unpopularity of the association. . In connection with this matter a meeting of the Palmerston North members of the association has been convened for Monday night by the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce, when the best method of promoting the interests of the association will be considered. / ' Information gathered by a Dominion reporter shows that there are decided opinions existing iu some circles regarding the methods at present employed by the association, the complaint being voiced that such aro not in accord with popular opinion. Allegations of there being too much red tape and a lack of sufficiently progressive policy are being levelled at the committee. Indeed, from what can be gathered, a “ticket" will be prepared of nominees for tho twelve v.-v--cancies annually recurring on the committee, and for which vacancies, nominations are now being called by the association. This may or may not be the outcome of Monday night’s meeting, at which, however, the dissatisfied element is bound to give expression to its feelings. The chamber of commerce, it is under, stood, is taking Up no definite attitude in the matter, but is convening the meeting simply because the subject under review is in the interests of the businessmen of the town, the great majority of whom are members of the A. and P. Association.
