THE BLACK SHIRTS

SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY OF FASCISM celebrations; in italy MUSSOLINI’S MESSAGE TO FOLLOWERS “Antagonistic forces must copy Fascism or die,” declared Signor Mussolini to an assemblage of Black Shirts in celebration of the seventh anniversary of Fascism. He urged his followers to renewed endeavours for national consolidation. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Copyright. (Rec. March 29, 7.30 p.m.) Rome, March 28. Italy celebrated the seventh anniversary of Fascism to-day. The Premier, Signor Mussolini, sent a message to the people recalling that after seven years the situation had cleared and that opposition had been dispersed. He urged the Black Shirts to renewed endeavours for national consolidation ■with the watchword “discipline” continuing unchanging. Signor Mussolini thereupon reviewed Fascists from an aeroplane and later addressed them, asking them hot to forget that the destiny of Italy was under their safeguard as a nation worthy of the name of empire. From early morning Fascists paraded the streets with ensigns and bands. Trains and public buildings were decorated with pictures of Mussolini everywhere.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. "Fascist Italy is both loved and feared abroad, but I do not atttach importance to what foreigners think or write,” said Signor Mussolini, addressing his troops. “It is natural that plutocracy, Liberalism, Freemasonry and Democracy should combine against Fascism, but antagonistic forces must copy Fascism or die. Foreigners must end their gossipy parliamentarism and give their executive greater power to regulate labour and capital as Fascists have done.”—“The Times.”

FOREIGN MINISTER RESIGNS Rome, March 27. Senator Contarini, Foreign Minister, has resigned. It is rumoured that he disagreed with Signor Mussolini’s foreign policy.—“ The Times.”
