A delightful present for an old lady or’ an invalid, or indeed for any chilly person, is a double Shetland bed wrap, knitted on verv large wooden pins in fine Shetland floss. The pattern is simplicity itself, being merely an oblong of plain knitting, about 41 inches bv 18 inches. Halfway along a slit is formed, for the neck, by easting off about a quarter of the stitches and casting on a corresponding number in the next row—the points of the slit being caught back to form little revers. Two of 'these oblong pieces arc knitted, in contrasting pale shades—pink and mauve, blue and pink, mauve and white and ..-o on—and the two are then crocheted together all round the edges. The neck is then adjusted anq corners are caught together and turned back at either end to form little cuffs through which the hand is slipped, thus keeping the wrap in position. The effect is foamv and light and eminently becoming, and the wrap is beautifully warm withal.
