NEW CIVIC OFFICERS
The Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood) stated yesterday that applications for the _ positions of town clerk and city engineer would be invited locally at the end of the week, and in Australia and England a little later on. The office of town clerk (which will be open for any professional or business man to apply for) would carry a salary of £1450 a year, and that of city engineer £l4OO a year. One of the conditions is that either of the appointments may be terminated on three mouths’ notice on either side.
