HUTT VALLEY HOSPITAL PROPOSAL
“I think that a hospital should be established in the Hutt Valley,” said Councillor Watkins at a meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council last night. “For it is most inconvenient and expensive to have to take patients into town instead of being looked after out here.” Tliis statement followed the reading of a letter from the Petone Council saying that it could not endorse the proposal for a hospital in the district. A letter was also received on the question from the Hutt County Council asking for more information before expressing an opinion. The Hutt Town Board also wrote saying it could not see its way clear to assist the movement.
