Auckland, January 18.

A shark 9ft. 4in. long was caught off Kauri Point on Saturday afternoon. The capture was made by Mr. A. W. Addison, junior, in an Bft. dinghy, and the fish was killed only aftet an hour’s strenuous fight, during which the boat filled with water, and was almost swamped. A heavy shark line with a fairly small hook was used. On the shark being opened, 22 young were found inside.
