Au epidemic of love murders is sweeping over Germany. Some of the most beautiful women and the handsomest men have gone to their deaths recently owing to love troubles. In Berlin alone 57 suicides were recorded in one week.
Lieutenant Euiillc Sequier, the latest Polar aspirant, announces that he will attempt to explore the Arctic in April by aeroplane, a Paris message states. He will sail in the ketch Perseverance to Greenland with eleven others, and thence sledge to the Mackenzie River, where he will join the aeroplane.
At the inquest on Mrs. Crabtree, murdered on a Warwickshire farm, it was stated that Sharpies, the suspected perpetrator, was unfit to attend. He had previously been taken from an institution, but the husband of Mrs. Crabtree, in evidence, said that lie thought Sharpies was a fit person to leave with his wife. Dr. Lately said that Mrs. Crabtree was stuck from behind. He considered that she fell dead instantly. The case was adjourned.
