PICKPOCKETS ON RACECOURSE

Auckland, January 18. The operations of pickpockets at the Takapuna races on Saturday are stated to have been fairly extensive. It was reported to the police that one man had a purse stolen containing £lO in cash and rail and steamer tickets to Dunedin.
