MEETING OF COUNCIL. . The monthly meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council was held fast night. The Mayor (Mr. 11. M. Jones) presided, and liiere were also present Councillors Laing, Holmes, Levi, Jenkinson. and Andrews.

The town elciT (Mr. J. I'. Menzies) reported that owing to the weather conditions during the holidays the ferry returns were not as satisfactory as was hoped for. During Dec-mbor 76.755 passengers were, carried, as against 85.905 for the December, 1921.
