The steamer Empress of Asia collided with the coaster Tungshing in the river near Shanghai. The Tungshing broke in half, and sank in four and a half minutes. The Empress of Asia saved many lives. Between five and ten of the Chinese passengers and crew of the Tungshing were drowned. The Empress of Asia proceeded to Vancouver ,after minor repairs had been effected. —Reuter.
