The Pioneer Club. The annual meeting of the Pioneer Chib wns held last evening, Lady Luke presiding in the absence of the actingpresident, Mrs. Newton. Officers Were elected as follow President, Miss Amy Kane; vice-presidents, Lady Luke. Mesdames J. P. Firth, J. Darling, Ginn, anti Myers: committee. Mesdanies Adams, Hlaxall, Bethune, G. Brown, Pocklcy, Preston, W. Page, and Miss Jenkyns.

An Auckland Press Association message reports the death of Miss Harriet R. Morison, formerly a wellknown officer of the Labour Department, and in charge of the women’s employment bureau of the Department m Auckland from 1908 to 1921.
The residential nursery circle of the Women’s National Reserve, Island Bay, held its annual meeting recently. The following officers were elected: President, Dlrs. A. Janson; secretary'. Miss Wiltshire; committee, Mesdames Campbell, Hayward, Mason, Suisted, Stratford, Wing, White and Roberts. The retiring president, Mrs. SeabrookMason, outlined the work they hoped to accomplish in the future. ’.A very hearty vote of appreciation was accorded het for her work as president. The retiring secretary (Mrs. Suisted), gave a detailed account of the work that had been accomplished during the year, including the formation of the circle. This evoked warm applause, and a very hearty vote of thanks to Mrs. Suisted for her energy and good work as secretary wan passed. Much enthusiasm was expressed by various members upon the success of the playgiound, and the work So far accomplished, and the earnest desire was expressed to carry it out in its entirety. A special resolution was passed thanking one ami all wh i had helped to make the gathering at Island Bay such a success. Afternoon tea brought an enjoyable afternoon to a clobe.
