GIRL GUIDE NEWS

A VISIT TO THE RELIEF. Guiding is making excellent progress in Wellington, and in Masterton and Palmerston North districts new companies have recently bceu formed and many Guides enrolled. Fleet week lias naturally brought many additional incidents of interest into Gliding. On Friday Inst the Guides and Brownies of the Dominion Fanners’ Institute Company were present at the English-Speaking Union’s reception to Admiral Crtontz and his officers. The Guides formed a guard of honour from the entrance to the door of the hall and were very proud to bo complimented by the Admiral on their smart appearance. Afterwards they helped in many ways under the captaincy of Jtiss Bell and Miss Rose. On Sunday last Guides and Brownies of this coinpan.v held a church parade at St. Andrew's Church to commemorate the formation of their company in August, I 1924.

I A new company lias been formed at Berhampore—the 11th Berhampore Wellington Company—under Miss J. Bisset (captain) and Lieutenants K. and L. "Whitaker. A local committee has been formed comprising Mrs. J. Whitaker, Mrs. A. Moller, Mrs. C. Lincgar, Mr. R. T. Bailey, Mr. Mountjoy, Mr. Georgeilsoii. The first parade was held on August 3, when nineteen recruits attended, and further intending Guides will be welcomed by the captain any Monday night nt 7 o’clock at the Berhampore Infant School. The formation of this company has been made possible bv the kindness of the Berhampore School Committee, who have lent the schoolhoiiso for parades. Permission has been given for Guide captains to conduct their companies over tho American hospital ship. Relief on Thursday morning, and all Guides will gather nt tho entranco to the Clyde Quay wharf nt 10 o’clock sharp.
