I The eighth annual festival of the ’Wellington Competitions Society will ~ 1 commence at the Town Hall and ConI cert Chamber on Saturday next at 10 i a.m. At the evening session at 8 His Worship the Mayor, Mr. C. J. B. Noiwood, will declare the festival open. The Prime Minister, Hon. J. G. Coates, , and the Minister of Education, Sir i James Parr, have written apologising tor their non-attendance owing to prior en- £ gagements. A sincere invitation is ex- r tended to officers and men of the k American Fleet to attend the competi- h tions and hear some of our clever juvenile competitors. Popular prices will be charged throughout the festival, and the 'box plan is at the Bristol.
