FORFEITS POSTED FOR DEMPSEYWILLS FIGHT. New York, August 18. After the New York Athletic Commission had granted Jack Kearns s icense to do business in New York State, he and Tex Rickard, the promoter, each posted forfeits of 25,000 dollars for the Dempsey-Wills fight to take place before July 4. Paddy Mullens, Harry M ills s manager, is expected to post his forteit shortly. If Dempsey refuses to fight for Kearns, Mullens will then receive Kearns’s forfeit. Mullens later appeared before the comn ission, and said he would not post the forfeit money if that body said it would not recognise Wills as champion, if Dempsey defaulted. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
