WAIRARAPA NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Masterton, July 21. After considerable agitation, tho To Ore. Ore School is to have a separate staff, and Aliss C. H. Kelleher, for 26 years head teacher at \\ aingawa, has been appointed headmistress. She will be assisted by Altss L. I. H. Robinson, who has been at Te Ore Ore for tho past four years. The separation of the school from the Lansdowne School takes place from August 31. The Alinister of Railways has replied to representations from the Bush district urging that early and late*trains now travelling from Afasterton to AA Tellington and back be run from and to AVoodville, that the prospective traffic, would be totally inadequate to warrant the additional expenditure involved. It was considered that tho long Journey would deter people travelling except in rare cases. Tn a match with the ATanawatu Golf Club for the Wilson Cup, the Afasterton Club wore defeated by nine matches to one, Horton, tho Afasterton champion, being the only winner. Air. J. IT. Datson, formerly pastor of the Congregational Church, has been ordained to the, diaconate at St. Afatthew’s, Afasterton. Air. W. D. Horne, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, underwent a successful operation in the Glenwood Hospital at the week-end. 'The Rev. O. Gibson, curate of St. Alatthew’s, will leave at the end of tho week to take charge of the Raetihi parish.
