THIS QUARTER’S EXCESS DEPOSITS Sir James Parr, Postmaster-General, made available yesterday figures showing the total amount of deposits and withdrawals in 'connection with the Post Office Savings Bank, in each postal district, during the period January 1 to April 30. The figures, calculated over the first four mouths of the current year, are analysed to show the excess of deposits over withdrawals in each case. The total excess deposits amount to £531.203. It will be observed, the Minister pointed out, that the Wellington district has contributed a very large proportion of the excess deposits, the sum being £177,241. The next district in the running is Napier, with a sum of nearly £77,000, and followed closely by Wanganui 'with £65,712. Hamilton attains fourth place with the amount of £55,147.
