A SLIGHT INCREASE The bulletin issued by the District Health Department yesterday showed a slight increase in infectious diseases notified in the area for the week ended at 9 a.m. The following are the details, the previous week’s figures being given in parentheses : — Taranaki-Horowhenua: Scarlet fever 1 (0), enteric fever 1 (0), tuberculosis 1 (1), cerebral spinal meningitis 1 (0), septic abortion 1 (0), diptljeria 0 (6), puerperal fever 0 (1), erysipelas 0 (I), pneumonia 0 (1). Total 5 (10). Wairarapa-East Cape : Scarlet fever 1 (0), diphtheria 6 (5), enteric fever 1 (1), tuberculosis 2 (0), erysipelas 1 '(0), cerebral spinal meningitis 0, (1.), ' trachoma 0 (1), pneumonia 0 (1). Total 11 (0). Central Wellington: Scarlet fever 6 (3), diphtheria 8 (7), enteric fever 1 (0), tuberculosis 1 (0), septic abortion 2 (0), puerperal fever 0(1), pneumonia 0 (2). Total 18 (13).
