MASSEY MEMORIAL FUND

DONATIONS TO DATE The Mayor of Wellington acknowledges receipt of the following subscriptions to the Massey Memorial Fund;—

Tn referring to the above list of subscriptions to the Massey Memorial, the Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood) said that it was useless disguising the fact that the response so far had been a poor one, and be was sure that it did not, by any means, reflect the real feelings of the people of Wellington. So far most of the donations received had been for £5 ss. or £3 35., but liis view of the case was that he would like to see even smaller subscriptions, down to ss. or 2s. 6d., sent in. There were many other appeals being made to the public of Wellington just now, appeals that he would not like to see neglected, but still he hoped that more donations would be- forthcoming for the national memorial to the late Mr. Massey from now on. All such donations would be acknowledged from time to time in the Press. A “DOMINION” LIST. A list has been opened at The Dominion office for the receipt of donations to the memorial.
