BETWEEN LONDON AND AUSTRALIA BANKS’ NEGOTIATIONS BUYING AND SELLING RATES The Associated Hanks have revised the exchange rates between Australia and London. The “Sydney Morning Herald’’ says that negotiations between the banks are progressing - satisfactorily towards settling the exchange rates on Loudon. 'There is every likelihood of a compromise being reached between two proposals, one for a steep fall and the other for making the fall easy by steps. The margin between buying and selling rates is also being negotiated, and a compromise is likely between the advocates of an initial margin of 55., widening with the lengthening of the usance, and the advocates of the present 20s. margin.—Press Assn.
