'There is every likelihood of a compromise being reached between two proposals, one for a steep fall and the other for making the fall easy by steps. The margin between buying and selling rates is also being negotiated, and a compromise is likely between the advocates of an initial margin of 55., widening with the lengthening of the usance, and the advocates of the present 20s. margin.—Press Assn.
