A CITY TRAGEDY

MAN FOUND HANGING IN PASSAGE.

A single man, aged 42, named Eddie Merry, who resided with his niotlie, at 71 Cambridge Terrace, was found yesterday afternoon hanging from a rope suspended to the bannisters in bis home. Mrs. Merrv left -her home at about 1 p.m. when her son was in his usual health. She returned about five p.m. and found him suspended from a piece of rope in the passage. The-police were notified, and life was found to be extinct, the deceased having been dead ■ some time. No motive lias so far been found for the tragedv. Mr. Merry, who was described as a rent collector, was ill comfortable circumstances ied property worth a considerable amount. An inquest will be held.
