NEW FOOTFAULT RULE. Paris, March 21. The International Lawn Tennis Federation has adopted the following new footfault rule, operating from January 1, *l926:—“lmmediately before commencing to serve the server shall stand with both feet at rest behind the base line, and within imaginary _ continuations of the centre mark and side line. Thereafter until’ the service is delivered he shall—(a) Not change position by walking or running, (b) Shall maintain contact with the ground, (c) Keep both feet behind the base line.”

A. special committee was appointed, including Mr. Flavell, representing .Australia, to seek unanimity with respect to a standard ball to be introduced internationally on January 1, 1926.—Au5.N.Z. Cable Assn.
