POLICE AND SUMMONS CASES. Police and 'summons cases were dealt with by Mr. C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. George Edwards was. remanded to March 25 on a charge of theft of „£3B as a servant of the New Zealand Government. Thomas Joseph Donald Lowry, charged with froging a cheque for £l5, was remanded to appear on March 25. A young man named Donald Campbell, who was charged with unlawfully converting a car to his own use, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour. Lilian Mary Monk was fined £1 and 17s. Gd. costs for selling adulterated milk. . ■ , Frank Payne was fined £1 for keeping open a shon for the purpose of trading on Sunday. William Williams was fined £1 on a charge of assault. For being unlawfully on licensed promises, Arthur Henry Lewis was fined £2. Eric Ferrers Wakelin was , fined 10s. for giving an unstamped receipt. For refusing (to quit licensed premises when ordered to do so, Walter Pearson Jackson and Herman Rathner were each fined £1 and costs James Quinn was fined £2 in default five days’ imprisonment, for the theft of goods valued at 7s. 6d., the property of James Smith, Ltd. For failing to slacken speed when approaching a railway crossing in a motor vehicle, William Morgan waa fined £7 10s. and £4 Ils. costs. On-a similar charge, George Dick was nned £5 and '£3 10s. costs.
