WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES At the morning call yesterday a sale of New Zealand Milk Products shares at 2/s. 9d. was reported. At the afternoon call the sales reported were per cent. Bonds at £lOl, Bank of New Zealand Rights at 31s. 2d., and 31s. 3d. (two parcels), and Union Bank at £l4. There was a fair demand for Government Stocks and 80..ds with buyers of the 4f per cents, at £96 55., the 5 per cents, at £97 10s., and the per cents, at £lOO 17s. (id. Bank shares were quiet. Bank of New Zealand shares ex rights were wanted at 525. Bd., and the rights at 31s. 2d. There were buyers of Wellington Investiwmt shares at 9s. Bd., and Wellington Trust and Loan at £5 15s. Gas shares were quiet. Napier Gas shares £lO paid were in demand at £lO 17s. 6d., and Wellington preference at 16s. 6d. There were buyers of New Zealand Insurance shares at li(0s. 9d., Stan, dard Insurance at 41s. 3d., Gear Meat shares at 435., Union Steam preference shares at 205., Kelburn Tramway ordinary at 235., and Wellington Woollen preference at £6 4s. Coal shares were steady with buyers of Westport coal shares at 325. 6d., and Waiiia coal at 225. Crown Brewery shares were in demand at 345., and Ward, and Co. Brewery shares at 575. Colonial Sugar shares were 10s. higher at £5l 10s. There were buyers of Burns, Philp and Co.'s shares at 305.. Howard Smith shares at 355. 3d., Radiac Metals at 255. 3d., Taranaki Oil at 305., and Wilson’s Cement at 31s. 9d.

DAIRY CONTROL POLICY SUPPORTED. By Telegraph-—-Ruebs Association. Te Awamutu, March 20. The Dominion Executive of the Dairy Farmers’ Union, representing the Wairarapa, Manawatu, and Waikato districts, has unanimously adopted the following resolution: “This executive congratulates the overseas delegates and the Dairy Control Board on the work done, and the valuable report presented, and supports the policy defined by the board.”

HIDE AND SKIN SALES BROKERS’ REPORTS. The fortnightly sales of hides’and skins were held yesterday by the various brokers. A fair catalogue of all gra-'es was submitted to a fully representative attendance of buyers. Competition for dry sheepskins was slow, ana prices all round showed a drop of Id. to 3d. per lb. below rates recorded at the previous sale. Sallies were lower by Is. on late rates. There was a good demand for all hide parcels of substance, and those in good condition. Values for heavies, mediums, 'and lightweights generally were on a par with late rates. Faulty and beidly cared for lots sold at low rates. Kip and yearlings were about par to Id. lower, while calf sold on a par. There was a good demand for prime lots of tallow, prices being slightly better than late rates. The following is the range of prices :—

Sheepskins.—Halfbreds, 13d. to 18R1.; fine crossbred, 14d. to 16d.: medium to co-irse crossbred, lid. to 14J<1.; short to half wool, lOd. to 13Jd.; lambs, 9Jd. to l’i J ,il.: dead and damaged crossbred. 9d. to 12d.; inferior -and badly damaged, Id. to IOJd.; pelts, BJd. to' 12{d.: damp, salted, and green, Is. to 145.-; pelts, salted, 3s. to ss. 6d.; lambs, salted, 3s. to Bs. 9d.

DAIRY PRODUCE I MARKET Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date March 19:— Butter.—Market is very quiet. We quote New Zealand salted' 1725. (1785.), Danish 2265. (2345.), finest Australian salted 1725. (1785.), uusalted 180 s. (1845.). Cheese.—Market is quiet. Quotations for New Zealand white and coloured, 102 s. to 103 s. (103 s. to 1045.). MELBOURNE HIDES SALES. (Rec. March 20, 7.45 p.m.) Melbourne, March 20. At the hides sales, prices for good heavies and light kips unaltered. Other grades were fully a farthing lower. AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. Melbourne, March 20. Oats, milling, 2s.
