4 CARR DEFEATS PORRITT. (Rec. September 8, 0.30 a.m.) Prague, September 7. Carr (Australia) defeated .Porritt (New Zealand) in a 100 metres race, run in 10 4-ssioc. Porritt led for 70 metres, but Carr, finishing fast, won hv a metre. Carr severely strained a leg tendon, and the injury is regarded as serious.
