MURRAY OUTPOINTS VOLAIRE. Christchurch, June 3. In a boxing contest for a £l5O purse, lies Murray (New Zealand) beat Eugpne Volaire (France) on points. The fight went the full 15 rounds. The New Zealander did most of the fighting. MODRICH KNOCKS OUT O’SULLIVAN IN FIRST ROUND. Bi Telegraph—Press Association Auckland, June 3. A professional heavy-weight boxing contest between J. O’Sullivan and G. Modrich for £lOO. resulted in . Modrich knocking out his opponent in the first round. O’Sullivan was downed three times and knocked out with a heavy left to the jaw. FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF BRITAIN. (Rec. June 3, 11.5 p.m.) London, June 2. At Holland Park Hall, in a fight for the featherweight championship of Britain, George Mackenzie, of Leith, outpointed Harry Leach/ of Doncaster. Leach outspeeded Mackenzie in the early rounds, and at the halfway stage led well on points. After that the Scotsman improved. In the last few rounds Leach tired. Mackengie, fighting Jjard to the end, won by a narrow margin.—Router.
