From time to time cases of desecration of graves are reported, but very few are of the flagrant character that occurred at the Linwood cemetery last Sunday (states the Christchurch “Press”). The mother of a little boy who was buried towards the end of the week went on Sunday to see the grave and also the number of beautiful wreaths that had been placed on it. On the way to the grave she met a woman and a small boy, and said that the woman had some of the flowers, which were identified by the ribbon attached to them. When she was spoken to about the flowers the only explanation given by the woman was that her little boy had brought them to her.
