HEAVY DAMAGES CLAIMED FROM SYDNEY PAPER. (Rcc. June 3, 11.5 p.m.) Sydney, June 3. Thirty writs, aggregating claims amounting to £31,000 damages in respect of alleged libel, have been issued by AA'illiam Shanahan, a railway ganger, and twenty-nine members of his gaiig, against “Smith’s AVeekly” newspaper.—Press Assn.
