Fletcher (Referees’ Association). The Petone football club asked permission to withdraw its Fourth B team owing to lack of players in this grade. The withdrawal was allowed. The Teachers’ Training College notified that Both its third grade teams •would default on May 17 and 24. but -that the junior team would fulfil its engagements during the vacation. The Johnsonville club supplied further particulars regarding its application to -withdraw its third grade team, and permission was granted, on the game terms as Eastbourne. Permission was granted the Poneke club to withdraw its seventh grade team, the sixth grade fixture of the club last Saturday to be treated as a default. . . The Poneke chib -wrote complaining that in last Saturday’s match against 'Varsity three of its players had been badlv sniked apparently through one of the 'Varsity players having sharp spikes in his boots. “This is a matter that deserves attention,” commented Mr. Laws. It was decided to forward a copy of the letter to the University club drawing attention to the rules of Rugby. It was decided to inform clubs that certificates of age of under age players should be in by June 10, players whose certificates are not in by that date, to bo barred from playing. The South Canterbury Rugby Union wrote asking for confirmation of the elate, Wednesday, September 10, for the representative match. Wellington v. South Canterburv, at Timaru. The date was confirmed. The Southland Union wrote confirming September 17 as the date of the Wollington-Southland match at Invercargill. The Manawatu Union asked for a game between their representatives and the Wellington A team. It was decided to reply regretting that the match could not be arranged this season. The Hawke’s Bay Union, in reply to „ leocpst for a representative match in Wellington, wrote declining the tour. , „

Messrs. Millard, Murphy, and G. F. Jackson were appointed a sub-com-mittee in connection with arrangements with the New Zealand Union for the North Island Possibles v. Probables match. Messrs. G. F. Jackson. Millard and Neilson were appointed a sub-commit-tee to act in conjunction with two members of the Referees* Association regarding recommendations for the Imperial Conference in London. The Porirua club wrote with reference to a disallowed trv in their match at Kilbirnie against Petono juniors, the dispute hinging upon the nonmarking of the dead ball lino. It was decided to obtain a report from the referee. The Sports Protection League wrote asking for a delegate from the union to attend a deputation to Parliament next session with a view to obtaining exemption for sports bodies from the amusement tax.
