MAJOR MARTIN SAFE AEROPLANE STRUCK A MOUNTAIN Seattle, May it. A wireless message from Cordova, Alaska, reports that Major Frederick Martin, commanding officer of the four American aeroplanes which started out to circuit {lie world, for whose welfare there has been some anxiety, is safe at Port Moller. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. May 12, 7.20 p.m.) San Francisco, May 11. A message from Cordova says that Major Martin’s plane was completely wrecked by striking a mountain 199 miles west of Chignik. The two aviators were lost for seven days, and finally found a trapper’s cabin at the southernmost point of Port Moller Bay, during the morning of May 7. The country is still under snow. —■ Reuter.
