SHEEP-STEALING CHARGE FAILS

Tn the Supreme Court, a farmer named Milton McMillan, 35 years of axe, of Maungatawhiri Valley, was charged with the theft of eleven sheep, the property of a neighbouring farmer, When the case for the Crown closed, the foreman of the jury intimated that they did not want to hear any more evidence, and returned a verdict of not guilty without leaving the box.
