IMMIGRANTS ARRIVE
BIG PARTY ON ARAWA Two hundred and thirty assisted immigrants arrived by the Arawa from England yesterday, of whom 36 were domestics, brought out under the care of a matron, Aliss Hemmington. The district allocation is as follows:—Auckland 71, Wanganui 18, Gisborne 7, Napier 12, Wellington 60. Picton 3, Nelson 6, Greymouth 4, Westport 2, Lyttelton 18, Timaru 10, Oamaru 4, Dunedin 31, Bluff 2. The South Island quota left for their destinations last night. BOYS TO LEARN FARMING. Eight English public school boys arrived by the Arawa to study farming in tho Dominion. Their names are: G IV. Anderson, K. B. Ansley. E. H. Colby, J. Davie. H. W. G. Dickinson, F. Grayson, R. S. Pringlo. A. Al. Woods. Three will proceed to South Canterbury, three to Gisborne, one to Otago, and the other to Nelson. They are "a fine type of boy, of good physique and mentality.
