ABSORPTION of stoke poges THREATENED. London, April 21. The spreading tentacles of Greater London threaten to absorb the village of Stoko Poges. Tho church in this village is famous as the. resting place of tho Poet Gray, and the churchyard is the traditional scene of his “Elegy-” Although Stoke Poges is twenty miles from London, many suburban houses have already been erected there and there is fear of encroachment on the picturesque surroundings of tho churchyard.
