Japan drew a bye nt the upper half, and will play the winner of the CubaCanada match. , Mexico drew the lower half bye, and will meet the winner of tho AustraliaChina contest. European Zone. —Upper Half. Ireland versus France. Holland versus IndiaSouth Africa versus Argentina. Spain drew a bye, and will meet th© winder of th© Britain-Belgian match. „ Lower Half. Denmark versus Hungary. Italy versus Rumania. Austria versus Switzerland., New Zealand versus Czecho-Slovaliia, The committee has announced that challenges from Hungary and Austria have been received, but it has not hitherto made this fact public, pending their submission to the other challengers, who promptly responded with the requisite number of affirmative notes to permit their competition.— Aus.-N.Z.
