The Imperial Household has issued a statement concerning the Emperor Ycshihito’s mceital condition which has shown no improvement during the last eighteen months, and tho failure to improve applies particularly to his articulation aind memory, which, have become worse. The Emperor’s physical condition otherwise continues to be favourable and improving. I'he statement is designed to appease public anxiety concerning the monarchs wellbeing.
