It is reported that the excessive heat of 130 degrees experienced in Central Otago for several days has badly blistered the apple crops in the. Clyde, Alexandra, and Earnsclcugh districts. In some cases, on the sunny side of the trees, 50 per cent.' of the crop has been affected, so that if not used early a big wastage will result.
