DEMANDS OF BRITISH TRADES UNION CONGRESS EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT MAINTENANCE , By Telbghaph—Press Association. rpVVIITGHT. London, February 7. A “six point” charter has been issued by the General Council of the Trades Union Congress, on behalf of the unemployed. It demands: (1) Effective Government maintenance cf all unemployed, dissociate! from Poor Law administration ; (2) immediate development of Government schemes for employment at trade union rates of wages; (3) State workshops; (4) reduction of hours of labour to absorb the unemployed; (5) occupational training centres, particularly for boys, girls, and ex-service men; (6) suitablehhonsing accommodation at reasonable rents. —Reuter, UTILISE THE EMPIRE’S RESOURCES GENERAL BOOTH’S ADVICE (Rec.
