« At the request of a large number of business people and residents the Upper Hutt Town Board decided by resolution to alter the statutory closing day in the Upper Hutt Town District from Wednesday to Saturday. At the last meeting of the Upper Hutt Town Board the. question of drainage for the district was considered and the adoption of a scheme of sewerage a,s outlined by the board’s’ engineer, was approved, and it was decided to place the proposals before the ratepayers as soon as the necessary preliminary arrangements are complete. The local bowling club is fighting out a singles handicap match, and tho leaders are W. Greig and L Naylor, who have each lost one game only.
