MILITARY PAGEANT
♦ The committee in connection with the military pageant, "The Army Through the Ages," which is to be staged at Newtown Park from March 1 to 8, are working strenuously to place their queens in the lead. The U.S.A, have chosen as their queen Nurse C’avell, who will be portrayed by Matron Wilson, and her guard of honour -will consist of nurses, all late N.Z.E.F. Matron Wilson, R.R.C., is well and favourably know’n io all "Biggers” having been at Brockenhurstl and Hornchurch Ilospir tals, and they are working very hal’d to see that their queen leads tho procession of queens. With this end in view, they have organised what is unique in Now Zealand, a jumble drive for the whole of Wellington. They realise the importance of the object of the pageant to raise funds for the Community Club for boys, a social club whore they are well catered for, and where they are instructed from time to time in the duties that will tend to make them worthy citizens. Citizens are asked to help 'by giving anything that can be sold for the benefit of the soldiers’ queen.
