James Taylor, president of the Amateur Swimming Union of Australia, is en route to Paris with the object of obtaining recognition by the International Swimming Federation of Charlton’s world’s records as under the federation’s ruling the times are not officially recognised if not made in a still pool, the ruling .specifying that no fast time shall be recognised if registered with the assistance of wind or tide. Although Charlton had the assistance of a strong breeze up the course on Saturday, it hindered him on the return.—Press Assn.
