SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
There was a fine attendance at the concert given by Mrs Edwards and Miss E. I’assau at the Sailors’ Friend Society on Thursday, when encores were the order of the evening. The performers were Mesdames Edwards and Fortune, Miss E. Passau, and Messrs Jenkins, Vai Jones, Sydney Smith, Barry, Grey. Mrs. Fortune was at the piano. The hostess presented helpful gifts for the competitions. The efforts of ths men caused merriment. The prizes went to the Port Elliot, Cornwell, and Turakina. The missioner announced that things were well in hand for the Anniversary Day picnic.
