THE KEWPIE’S FAIRYLAND

'l"’- -nre beauty and charm of "The K(V„’ Fairyland.” which was opened (n i ' oublic for the first time on Saturday night, made a particularly good impression. So bright is the scene, so variegated the colours, that each visitor on entering the hall could not hclr> but make exclamations of delight. Visitors could not fail to be struck by the novelty of the ideo. and greatly impressed by the story each of the 21 "boxes” unfolded. To little children the sight of the hundreds of nixies, brownies, elfins, goblins, and fairies, made very real ths stories they are wont to have read to them. or. if they are of an nee. read for themselves. To adults also there.was some message. The wor’d is striving after resffulness, peace and ouiet. and nt no time more so than nt the Christmas season. .As the visitors wandered round Hie hall, viewing each “box” wbmh indicated such bonniness and quiet, thev must have felt infinitely more satisfied, and filled with the essential goodness of life. The boxes are 21 in number, each lit with its own peht .and each specially arranged to add something to a «tran""ly wonderful storv. b’rom the first “box” which represents the entrance of a rich nod poor qir l tn the fairyland that is open t» all. to the Father Chrietmae waiting

to be given the gifts the fairies have collected so that he may give them to good children, one sees “that best part of a good man’s life, his litle unremembered acts of kindness and of loves.” The scene work is very well done, making for absolute realism. There may be seen the Fairy Love, the Fruit Fairies, the Dawn Fairies, the Sunset Fairies, the Sea Fairies, and all the other winged charmers wh onow begin their good cheer season. Fairyland will be open again this evening.
