A week ago he married a charming wife. . whom he compelled to accompany him on his raids. Thev were surprised while robbinir a. mansion.' Carleton shot a policeman, dead, and leaped from an upstairs window ana escaped, but the police secured evidence from his wife which led to his arrest. Another man named Desclieneau has received a life sentence from a Los Angeles Court on charges of robbery.
