SOME QUESTIONS.
Sir, —-I would like to ask Mr. J. T. Martin a few questions in reference to his address before the Chamber of Commerce recently on the Dairy Control Bill. Does he not think he was indiscreet to say such hard things in face of the voiced opinions of such a large majority of producers in favour of control, and if the vote was taken on a butterfat basis the opposition i- certainly negligible? I know one lot of directors who have taken exception to the attitude of Mr, J. T. Martin, allhough they have dealt through his Erm for several years. Surely Mr. J. F. Martin would have been, better or more fairly employed addressing the meeting of dairy farmers at Palmerston North, who work to, produce their butter-fat by long hours of arduous toil, and do not often have the plear sure of the nice short office hour® of those in the city, who handle their produce. Is not a member of Mr. Martin’s own firm a member of the Meat Control Board? —I am, etc., LEVIN.
